Every repair backed in writing. If the same issue returns within 90 days, we come back and fix it for free — parts and labor.
From a 1990s Maytag dryer to a 2024 Sub-Zero column. Factory parts, manufacturer-spec procedures, real diagnostic tools.
GE Appliances has belonged to Haier since 2016, yet the dishwashers, laundry pairs, refrigerators and ranges in most Upstate kitchens still carry the GE, GE Profile or Café name and draw on one shared parts catalog. For you that means parts are easy to source and most faults are well understood.
Most people reach this page looking for GE dishwasher or GE dryer repair, so those two come first, followed by washers, refrigerators and cooking appliances. Each part explains what a symptom usually means, what you can safely check on your own, and the point where repair stops making sense. DP Appliance Repair works across Greenville and Spartanburg counties. You get the price before any work starts, and every repair carries our 90-day parts-and-labor warranty.
GE dishwashers seldom spell out a fault on a screen. They show it through behavior instead: water left standing in the tub, a cycle that stops halfway, lights that blink, or a door that beeps and refuses to start. Have the model number from the label on the edge of the tub ready when you call.
Repair or replace: GE builds its dishwashers from common, widely stocked parts, so a pump, latch, inlet valve or control board is a reasonable repair. Replacement starts to win when the tub itself leaks or has rusted through, or when an older unit needs a board and a pump at the same visit.
A GE dryer that tumbles but stays cold is one of the most frequent laundry complaints. On electric models the usual suspects are the heating element, a blown thermal fuse or the high-limit thermostat. On gas models they are the igniter, the flame sensor and the gas valve coils. A blown thermal fuse is nearly always a symptom rather than the real problem: it opens because the dryer overheated, and the dryer overheated because the exhaust could not breathe.
That makes airflow the first thing to check. Clean the lint screen, slide the dryer forward and inspect the duct behind it. Crushed or lint-packed duct is common in the tight laundry closets of newer houses around Simpsonville and Greer, where the dryer is pushed flat against the wall, and it can turn a 45-minute load into two full cycles.
GE sells top-load washers with an agitator or an impeller as well as front-loaders, and the two families fail in different ways. Top-loaders mostly come in for a lid lock that will not engage, a tub that fills but never agitates, or a load left sitting in water because the spin never starts. Front-loaders come in for drain trouble, leaks from the door boot and the musty smell that builds up in the door seal.
Before booking, make sure both taps behind the machine are fully open and the load is not balled up on one side. On a front-loader, clear the drain pump filter behind the small lower panel, where coins and hair ties collect. If the washer still misbehaves, the likely part is a lid lock, drive motor, shifter or drain pump, all routine repairs.
The classic GE refrigerator complaint is a freezer that stays cold while the fresh-food side slowly warms up. Both compartments are cooled by air made in the freezer and pushed through a vent, so when frost blocks that vent or the evaporator fan stops, the lower section warms first. The cause is usually a defrost part that has quit: the heater, the thermostat or the control that times the defrost cycle.
Ice and water problems make up the other big group: no ice, a weak water stream, a leaking fill line, or an ice maker that keeps dumping cubes after the bin is full. Replace the water filter if it is overdue, check that the supply line behind the fridge was not kinked when it was pushed back, and make sure nothing is blocking the ice maker’s shut-off arm or sensor. If all of that checks out, the inlet valve or the ice maker is next in line.
Repair or replace: a fan, defrost part, inlet valve or ice maker is a sensible repair on a GE refrigerator in otherwise good shape. A compressor or refrigerant leak is the moment to weigh the repair against the age of the fridge.
GE electric ranges and wall ovens report faults as F-codes on the display. The ones homeowners meet most are F2 (the oven ran hotter than it should, often a sensor or relay fault), F3 (the temperature sensor circuit is open), F7 (a key on the touchpad is stuck or shorted) and F9 (a door lock problem, usually right after a self-clean). Switching the breaker off for a minute clears a one-off glitch. A code that comes straight back needs a technician, and self-clean should not be run again until it is fixed.
GE glass-top cooktops mostly fail at a single burner: one element that stays cold, one that only works on high, or one that will not shut off. That points to the element or its switch. Gas cooktops and ranges come in for igniters that click without lighting, which is often just a burner cap sitting crooked or a port clogged by a boil-over, so dry the burner, reseat the cap and try again before calling.
If your appliance is still under the GE warranty, start with GE’s own factory service: warranty repairs go through them. Once it is out of warranty, we repair GE appliances at your home across the Upstate, with parts matched to your model and the price before any work starts.
Yes. We cover Greenville, Spartanburg, Greer, Mauldin, Simpsonville, Taylors, Boiling Springs and the towns around them. Call (864) 547-6666 before noon and a same-day visit is often possible.
It depends on what failed. A blocked drain path, a door latch, a pump and a control board are different jobs with different parts. The technician diagnoses the dishwasher first and you get the price before any work starts.
Clean the lint screen and make sure the duct behind the dryer is not crushed or packed with lint. On an electric dryer, confirm both halves of the double breaker are on. If it still stays cold, the element, thermal fuse, igniter or gas valve needs testing.
Every repair comes with a 90-day warranty on parts and labor. If the same problem returns within 90 days, we come back and fix it at no charge.
